Adekunle Gold has been consistently giving us good music for many years now. I swear he deserves more recognition than he gets from Nigerians.
Adekunle Gold is a wordsmith and a storyteller who is able to take real-life situations to educate the masses. For me, his music is for soul-searching, mood-lifting and general feel-good vibe.
From listening, I hear he’s strongly influenced by 80’s Nigerian musicians such as I.K. Dairo, Ebenezer Obey, Sunny Ade, legendary Fela and others.
I hear many music lovers saying Nigerian/African millennial artists don’t write contemplative music anymore. That’s not true, have they listened to Gold Album. Well, I don’t think so. I can reassure you that, if they have, their opinion will be different.
